The European Medical College (EMC) held its Open Day, during which prospective students and their parents had the opportunity to learn more about the school’s academic work, teaching process, and practical aspects of education.
During the event, students and teaching staff prepared a rich program showcasing different areas of medical education and everyday school activities.
As part of the program, students from the dental technician track presented their work through practical exercises and classroom demonstrations, while pharmacy students prepared creative activities, including making soaps, lip balms, and EMC-branded labels. Students from medical tracks demonstrated first aid skills using training models, while basic chemistry experiments and practical laboratory work were presented in the school laboratories.
The event aimed to bring prospective students closer to EMC’s working approach and provide insight into practical training, which represents one of the key elements of the educational process.
The Director of EMC, Nermina Kutuz Beširević, emphasized that the Open Day was an opportunity to present the results of students’ and teachers’ work.
“This is a day when we celebrate the success of our students. They have shown how much they have progressed and how ready they are to demonstrate their knowledge through practical work. Our goal is to develop excellence-oriented skills in students, and we are especially pleased with their motivation and willingness to participate in such activities,” she said.
The Chair of the School Board of EMC, Emina Ganić, highlighted the importance of practical training and cooperation with the University SSST.
“In medical professions, there is a significant demand for qualified staff, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and across Europe. Our educational model enables students to gain real experience during their studies through practice at the University SSST and cooperation with the UniMed Polyclinic. EMC provides a strong foundation for further education and professional development, and our goal is to teach students critical thinking and prepare them for future challenges,” she stated.
The Open Day, attended by the founder of the University SSST, Academician Ejup Ganić, together with representatives of the management and teaching staff, provided an opportunity for EMC to present its modern educational approach through a combination of theory and practical work, as well as to offer prospective students insight into a learning environment where knowledge is actively applied.
EMC continues to develop an educational model that enables students to gain practical skills early and prepare for further studies in medical and healthcare fields.
